Gita was born in India and was raised in London. In 1979 Gita joined Browns the style leaders of fashion. As buyer Gita worked on the first collections of Norma Kamali, Donna Karan, Michael Kors, Stephen Sprouse. After working with American Collections it was a natural progression for Gita to relocate to New York.
1987: General Manager for the Paul Smith Flagship Shop. Responsible for PR, merchandising, buying, and day to day running of Paul Smith NY.
1994: Little Dream Makers with Seran Trehan. A modern children’s bed linen collection.
2005: Private Client jewelry business, dresscode by gita.
2007: Boutique, dresscode by gita

2009: Pop Up Shop 1 Gita brought the concept to Baltimore.
